Founder Irene Koo can’t imagine what’s worse than finally getting to go on that dream vacation, but falling victim to the countless tourist trap eateries spread throughout major cities. 

She created the Mamakoo app to guide travelers as they explored new cities and cultures, allowing them to locate the best local cuisines recommended by locals themselves.

Mamakoo hired Afternoon Culture in 2017 during the beginning stages of its project to create an adventurous brand identity.

Encouraging people to wander with confidence, we designed a color palette that radiated boldness and inspired movement. For the logo, we designed an emblematic compass to align with Mamakoo’s desire to support travelers as they went off the beaten path.
