Wolomi knows that for women of color, pregnancy comes with an extra set of risks and stresses. Inspired by her career as a Labor & Delivery nurse, Layo George founded Wolomi to help empower women in her community to navigate their pregnancies with joy and ease.

Layo came to Afternoon Culture in 2018 to shift from freelance work to starting her own business. What started as a logo design project turned into a two-year partnership that helped grow Wolomi into one of today’s most promising healthcare startups.

Faced with the challenge of developing a brand that was both trustworthy and inviting, we created a compelling visual identity centered around a warm color palette. We paired the color palette with a pictorial mark that celebrates womanhood and women of color.

Wolomi’s new design and strategy welcomed moms and moms-to-be to a community that understood their needs. Armed with a distinct brand identity, Wolomi was ready to create real change for the maternal healthcare of vulnerable communities.
